Positives

I was going to write an essay about how anyone who spent more than two hours watching Michael Jackson death coverage or expressed how much they loved Transformers 2 should be immediately sterilized, but I reminded myself that I like to accentuate the positive (something I think should be the subject of a song, don't you?), so here are some positives:

- I just received shipment notification of the DVD of Nicholas Ray's Party Girl starring Robert Taylor (boo!) and Cyd Charisse (yay!). It is a Warner Archive edition. I'm renting Warner Archive DVDs from a website called Classicflix.com, which seems to be the only place renting these made-to-order DVDs. In the left-hand corner of this blog post is a photo of Cyd Charisse. Isn't she something, folks?

- Seventeen days until Bears training camp. For those unfamiliar with my adoration with football, it's true. I've been watching the Bears religiously since 1978. It's really the only sport I follow with any kind of feverish devotion, if only because it's the only sport for which I have any time. I love the fact that it's the shortest of all the professional seasons and it makes fall that much better. Even better is I actually have Sundays free now.

- Paul McCartney is not dead.

- I am still fortunate enough to be Rob Kozlowski, lucky enough to be married to an exceptionally amazing woman.
